Mountain Bike Park in Fort Dodge, IA.

Actions Steps:

  • Establish group of volunteers (Fort Dodge Mountain Bike Club)

  • Develop master plan of existing and future mountain bike trails, mountain bike

features at Lizard Creek Mountain Bike Park.

  • Plan scheduled trail work with FD Mountain Bike Club members/volunteers, City

of Fort Dodge and Webster County Conservation.

  • Trail mapping

  • New trail building

  • Trail Signage

  • Routine trail maintenance

  • Establish social media page/website to showcase Lizard Creek Mtn. Bike Park,

recruit new club members/volunteers and solicit donations.

  • Recruit new corporate sponsors/partners to financially support master plan.

  • Market Lizard Creek Mountain Bike park.

  • Social Media/website - trail riding pictures/videos.

  • Mountain Bike festival

Progress:

  • Worked with City of Fort Dodge to get approval for trail usage/building.

  • Worked with City of Fort Dodge and Webster County Conservation for some

materials, equipment and skilled labor.

  • 1200 hours 2020 volunteer hours for trail planning, building and maintenance.

  • 8 new bridges built.

  • Feet of trail built.

  • Pit toilet added at the trail head.
